Where we do it

The Coffs Coast is located on the mid-north coast of NSW, just a couple of hours drive south of Byron Bay.

It’s easy to get here, with quick and convenient daily flights from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to Coffs Harbour airport. Bus and train routes also link towns all along the NSW east coast to Coffs Harbour.

The Coffs Coast’s mild, sub-tropical climate is arguably the best in Australia, so you’ll enjoy outdoor activities all year round. Average air temperatures range from 19-27°C (66-81°F) in summer and 7-19°C (45-66°F) in winter. Water temperatures average 25°C (78°F) In summer and 21°C (71°F) in winter.

The Coffs Coast has a diversity of landscapes, with mountain escarpments, World Heritage rainforests, green hinterlands and 90km of coastline blessed with dozens of golden sandy surfing beaches. The Solitary Islands Marine Park extends from the coast, and is an underwater wonderland. There are literally hundreds of outdoor activities and sights to enjoy, to suit all ages, interests and budgets.

The Coffs Coast hosts many national and international sporting events, including: Australian Surf Festival, World Rally Championships, Offshore Superboat Championships, Adventurethon, Great Endeavour Rally, Pittwater to Coffs Yacht Race, OzTag Championships and SurfGroms competitions.

The Coffs Coast is the home of surf legends, Harley Ingleby, and Lee Winkler. Come ride the waves that made them famous!

There are a range of cultural festivals held throughout the year, including: Coffs Jetty Carnival, Woolgoolga Curry Fest, Sawtell Chilli Festival, Bellingen Readers & Writers Festival, Bellingen Jazz & Blues Festival, Toast Urunga, Coffs Comedy and Buskers Festival, and Coffs Film Festival.

Food, Growers and Artisan Markets are held regularly in Coffs Harbour and throughout the region, and are a great way to engage with the local community.

Coffs Coast clubs, pubs and cafes offer regular entertainment showcasing local and national talent, including music of all genres, comedy acts and live shows. The larger clubs and pubs have courtesy buses to get you home safely after the gigs.

What we do

How it all started

Josh was keen to have a surfing holiday overseas, but was overwhelmed with what had to be arranged, and was anxious about how to get around and find the surf spots in an unknown location, especially where there were language barriers. He also had a strict time-frame and budget for his holiday. He eventually found a surfing-specific package deal with his own personal tour guide, and Josh had a great surfing trip. But, Sara being a non-surfer, was left behind at home…. Not fair!

We decided we could do better than that, and since the spectacular Coffs Coast has everything you could ever want from a surfing and sight-seeing holiday, Coffs Coast Surf Tours was born.

Coffs Coast Surf Tours is proud to deliver a stress-free Surf, Sights and Stay Tour Package, where everything’s taken care of. All you have to do is bring your board and relax. We also cater for non-surfers and beginners, so that couples, friends and families can all enjoy a beach-side holiday together, no matter what their surfing ability may be. The Coffs Coast is a renowned tourist destination as well as an awesome surfing location, so sight-seeing and holiday activities are a real bonus for our guests.
